In 2009-2010, Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) prepared 15 Environmental Watering Plans (EWPs) to meet the requirements of the conditional approval of the Connections Project under the Environment Effects Act 1978 and the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999. The EWPs were reviewed in 2015. The following EWPs were updated:
EWPs were developed for Johnson Swamp, Lake Yando and Campaspe River Reaches 3 and 4 in 2009-2010. The mitigation water assessments for these sites determined that no mitigation water was required. These sites are, therefore, not considered to be at risk sites and their EWPs were not updated in the 2015 review.
The NCCMA has prepared Environmental Water Management Plans (EWMPs) for Lake Murphy, Lake Elizabeth, Loddon River & Twelve Mile Creek, and Campaspe River Reach 2. The EWMP has now become the primary document for management of the watering regime at these four sites and the EWPs were not updated in the 2015 review.
